Showing Her Smile With Good Health

We’ve seen patients come to Valeo for many reasons over the nearly two decades we’ve been in business. In recent years, we’ve added a new reason to the lengthy list: we don’t require masks. This is precisely what initially led Mary to Valeo, although there were lots of other things that made her decide to keep coming back!

“I was previously going to physical therapy at a facility in Chanhassen. I remember walking out the door, anxious to take my mask off. One day, I happened to pass a gal who was also annoyed at needing to wear her mask at this point (over two years into the pandemic). We got to talking, and she mentioned Valeo, so I decided I should look into it,” shares Mary.

After doing a little research, Mary decided that Valeo indeed seemed like a place capable of addressing the issues she was dealing with: degenerative disc disease, hip pain, shoulder pain, and plantar fasciitis.

“The moment I stepped in the door I knew Valeo was different,” Mary says. “Right away, I noticed the scripture on the wall and the Bible on the table. It was clear that the work here is based around God. I just thought to myself, ‘that’s really something!’ It’s not often that you find a company that is so forward with their religious beliefs.”

Knowing that Valeo is such a Christ-centered clinic brought a smile to Mary’s face… which everyone got to see since it wasn’t hidden behind a mask!

Seeing Improvements (And Not at a Snail’s Pace)

Mary’s qualm with masks is not the only reason she pursued a change in clinics. Although she had been seeing several therapists, and at one point was going to therapy every week, she felt that she had been improving at a “snail’s pace.”

Mary Striking a Pose“The pain was setting me back,” explains Mary. “I thought I might never get better. At one point I even bought a cane to help me get around.”

Thankfully, through working with Dr. Jon, Mary has indeed started to get better!

“After my first visit with Dr. Jon, I knew care would be different in many ways. He addressed my issues through adjustments and recommended stretches. He also encouraged me to build certain muscles that would help correct some of the problems I was having,” Mary exclaims, adding, “Things are feeling great. Dr. Jon was even able to tell me that he didn’t think I would need a hip replacement. I had thought I’d need that. With patience and the right movement/stretches, and adjustments, it’s felt really, really good.”

Speaking Highly of Dr. Jon

Mary feels like there is more to her healing than just the physical work that Dr. Jon has done.

Dr. Jon exudes positive energy and has a contagious smile,” explains Mary. “That in itself is healing!” she adds. “There’s a lot to be said about people who have that positive energy. You can see it and feel it. I also love that Dr. Jon is so encouraging and patient and spends a couple minutes praying over me before I leave.”

“Thanks to Dr. Jon’s care, I feel like I’m getting my health back into shape,” Mary says. “I have a little corgi that likes to go out a lot and I’m able to trudge through the park with him. Especially in the snow, it’s not easy, but I can do it!”

We think that’s something to smile about!
