Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Accelerate the healing process, strengthen the immune system, and improve body function.

Oxygen: A Powerful Healing Tool

Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mild HBOT) involves breathing concentrated oxygen in a pressurized chamber. Because of the increased pressure, oxygen loads not only the red blood cells but the plasma as well, allowing the increased oxygen to deeply penetrate the body’s tissues.

Mild HBOT boosts cell growth by delivering increased amounts of oxygen to blood, tissues, and organs. Increased oxygen accelerates bone, skin, and muscle regeneration, helps the body fight infections more effectively, and has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect.

Valeo is excited to be able to offer this great technology to the Eden Prairie and greater Twin Cities community. HBOT is a powerful tool with minimal risk or side effects that greatly aids in healing and improved function for a number of health issues.

Benefits and Uses of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

  • Works as a powerful anti-inflammatory and normalizes immune function
  • Used by athletes for its performance enhancing qualities and to aid muscle healing
  • Stimulates growth factors and mobilizes stem/progenitor cells, which aid in the recovery of damaged organs and tissues
  • Can be used pre- and post-surgery to facilitate good outcomes
  • Promotes mitochondrial function and their output of ATP which is necessary for cellular function
  • Stimulates the regrowth of small capillaries into damaged tissue areas which expedites healing and recovery
  • Increases blood flow to the brain which helps with many dysfunctions including depression/low mood, cognitive decline, and focus issues
  •  Increased oxygen levels improve neuron function and neurotransmitter levels, helping to balance chemical messengers produced in the brain like dopamine and serotonin.

Who Should Use HBOT

There are many things we can do for our health. Breathing oxygen is vital for all of us! With that said, we could all benefit from using a mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Many athletes and business professionals utilize mild HBOT in order to increase their performance. They don’t necessarily have anything wrong with their health, they just want to use every tool available to them to get the edge.

Individuals dealing with brain health issues such as concussions, mild cognitive decline, brain fog, impaired healing, ADD/ADHD, fibromyalgia, just to name a few will benefit greatly from mild HBOT.

A Valeo practitioner can recommend HBOT during a routine appointment, or you can request a prescription be sent to us on your behalf from another doctor. Please make sure your referring doctor is aware of your full medical history to ensure there are no contraindications for HBOT. If you’d like to schedule an appointment with one of our practitioners, please call 952-949-0676.

What to Expect

When you arrive for your first appointment, our functional medicine assistant or a front desk staff member will lead you to our hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber and walk you through how to set up the oxygen and start the chamber.

Your session will last 15 – 30 minutes (longer therapy sessions are available per practitioner’s recommendation). Wear comfortable clothing. We have a chair inside the chamber for you to relax during your therapy, and we recommend bringing reading material or your phone to listen to a podcast, music, or anything else that you may enjoy.

Please remember:

  • All oxygen chamber visits must be scheduled. Walk-ins are welcome, but are subject to availability.
  • Inform us of changes in your medications and medical status.
  • No food or drinks allowed within the hyperbaric chamber. However, if you have diabetes, we ask you to bring a snack in case your blood sugar drops in the chamber.
  • No flammables or sharp implements allowed inside the chamber.

Prior to your first appointment, please complete a New Patient Form, if you’ve not already done so and submit it to the front desk staff when you arrive.
