When and why did you decide to pursue chiropractic?

I was working as a management consultant a few years after college, traveling full time, unhealthy, unhappy, and felt convicted that the gifts God gave me were not being put to use. I decided on a career change and went to chiropractic school. I grew up relying on my chiropractor and wanted to help other people realize their health goals the way I did.

What is your favorite thing about working with patients?

Watching someone achieve their health goals, whether it is being able to keep up with their grandkids or to qualify for the Ironman World Championships.

What is your most memorable success story?

It would be easy to say helping one of my patients recover from a chronic injury in order to win a gold medal at the Olympics, or treating my patient experiencing back pain to qualify for the PGA tour … but actually my most memorable success stories are helping babies and children through health concerns. Parents for the most part would do anything for their child, especially if they are dealing with a health issue. To be able to help relieve that all-consuming stress and worry when their child is healed naturally is something that you can never forget!

If you could choose any occupation other than chiropractor, what would you choose and why?

I would be a farmer. I grew up on farm, all of my family were farmers, and of course I could not wait to move to a big city as soon as possible. At this point in my life there is a lot to admire about that [farming] lifestyle.

What drew you to work at Valeo?

I visited Valeo and met Dr. Aaron while attending chiropractic school 10 years ago, and we have developed numerous connections through our personal and professional lives. After reconnecting recently, we both hit it off and I felt a very natural fit at Valeo. I’m very excited to help share my gift of healing and join the Valeo community.

What do you enjoy doing in your time off?

Roughhousing with my two young boys and snuggling my twin baby daughters. We spend most of our time outdoors in nature and playing sports. I enjoy coaching their sports teams and watching baseball whenever I can. I still compete in some cycling events and cross-country ski races. Lately, I have been running again and my current goal is to beat my mile run time from high school.

What is one thing you think is an absolute “must” for good health?

Lots of water, movement/exercise, sleep, and a balance in everything you do.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

2 Chronicles 16:9. “This is my prayer for my life and my family, that the Lord would find our hearts fully committed to Him.”
