‘Falling’ for Valeo

Man holding hurt shoulder

After speaking with Gary, we think it is safe to say he has ‘fallen’ for Valeo! Unfortunately, it was a pretty nasty actual fall that led him to us in the first place.

“About a year and a half ago, I was about to faceplant on the concrete heading out of the DMV. As I went down, I went to protect this beautiful face,” jokes Gary, adding, “which caused me to roll and land hard on my right shoulder. Golly, it hurt! I don’t think I’ve ever had pain like that… I was in such bad pain for weeks, I couldn’t do anything with my right arm, and I didn’t know what to do.”

After speaking with his son who highly recommended Dr. Aaron at Valeo, Gary made an appointment. “My son was thrilled with the care he has received at Valeo, and especially about how Dr. Aaron prays with him afterward,” he shares. “That is something that neither of us experienced at other care facilities.”

Dr. Aaron’s Patience for Patients

When Gary met with Dr. Aaron, he learned why the pain was so persistent and unbearable. “At my first appointment, he really took time to figure out where the tenderness started and ended. We determined it was probably a torn rotator cuff,” says Gary. “He went to work on it, very gently, but effectively, and got me started on the road to recovery.”

Gary’s care included a series of ‘standard’ appointments (where Dr. Aaron worked specifically on adjustments and muscle work) to enable Gary to move his right arm again, as well as instruction on exercises he could do at home to expedite his healing.

“Dr. Aaron was so patient,” Gary explains, “When I first went in, I could hardly move my right arm. I was in a world of hurt. He spent the time working on my shoulder and teaching me ways to help promote my own healing. The exercises were incredibly helpful…. not fun… but helpful! They made a tremendous difference over time, restoring mobility I had completely lost. I believe the prayers at the end of the appointment helped with my healing, too!”

It was the combination of Dr. Aaron’s work, Gary’s persistence with his assigned exercise, and the prayers that got Gary “out of the tomb of the unknown shoulder,” he jokes.

Gary is happy to report that with the care of Dr. Aaron and a little help with a single anti-inflammatory injection, he is back to 100%. He is not surprised at his recovery. “It was obvious from the time Dr. Aaron first sat down with me that things would get better,” he shares. “No promises were made that weren’t kept!”

Rave Reviews

Some might think with how highly Gary speaks of Dr. Aaron and Valeo that Gary is just an optimistic, always-look-on-the-bright-side kind of guy… and perhaps he is! But that doesn’t mean Gary hands out rave reviews left and right.

“I’ve had my share of doctors I’ve lost confidence in,” says Gary, “and it’s pretty rare that I can provide such a glowing review… but Valeo is a terrific clinic, and the entire team did a great job. Having led a business where I oversaw a team of 140 people, I recognize the value of 1) making sure the customer is satisfied and 2) working as a team to do it… both of those concepts were demonstrated at Valeo! It was a wonderful, wonderful experience.”
