Good Health from Birth and Beyond

Knowing when good health really starts is sort of like the chicken vs. egg conundrum.

On one hand, health starts pre-conception. It starts with the health of mom’s eggs and dad’s sperm. But… did you know that women are born with all the eggs they will ever have? That means that at one point, the egg that would eventually be YOU was inside not just your mom, but your grandma as well, as she carried your mom!

So part of what forms your health is not just your parents’ health, but your grandma’s health, as well. But, there is a lot that can influence your health after you’ve left the womb, too.

Health, it turns out, is a never-ending cycle. One way to interpret that is that it is never too late (or early) to get on the path to great health or start paving that path for your own children!

Here are a few tips you can use to work on achieving great health, from birth and beyond.

Mindset

Health isn’t simply the absence or avoidance of disease. Don’t run away from disease… doing so doesn’t provide a clear direction of where to go. Instead, chase health! It provides hope and shows that your choices have power.

Set the Example

It’s monkey see, monkey do! Keep your little monkey healthy by setting healthy examples yourself. They will be watching to see what your mindset is toward health and what you do to stay healthy. What examples do you want to set for your children in terms of how to approach good health? We believe setting an example of how to treat your God-given gift of life — and who you choose to help you along the way – is incredibly important, and influences your child from birth.

Be Proactive in Their AND Your Health

To set a good example, you need to be proactive. That means you shouldn’t wait until you start not feeling well to focus on health. Health is a culmination of proper nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and other health-supporting choices like supplements and adjustments. Know WHY You Want to be Healthy
