Take Time for Gratitude

Take time for gratitude. Why??

Having gratitude and sharing it with others has a major impact across the board on our lives.

Social Network

People who show gratitude on a regular basis have stronger family and friendship bonds. Their social network is solid and in a hard time, having that solid network can help you make it through the season.

Gratitude’s Physical Effect

Gratitude changes us physically by raising the body’s frequency. Our mood is more upbeat and positive. It will also affect those around us, like our children, who are little mirrors of us. The higher our frequency, the healthier we are, the less we get sick. Even if we do get sick, we’ll heal faster.

Gratitude strengthens the neuro pathway and helps to maintain a positivity even in times of a pandemic, such as COVID-19. Gratitude and fear reside in the same area of our brain. Therefore, you can have one or the other controlling your brain, but not both. The next time you catch your mind in an anxious or fearful state – stop. Take a breath and start making a gratitude list. Put effort into this list. Don’t just write down things you are thankful for and assume “I wrote down 10 things. Why am I still fearful?” Make sure to write down details, for example: I am grateful there are butchers, surgeons, oil rig workers, plumbers, etc. They make my life much easier and handle necessary tasks I do not want to do.

Gratitude in Prayer

Praying and talking to God is another way to express how grateful you are. God sent his son Jesus to take your place on judgment day. I’m real grateful He did. That right there could take a lot of time as you talk to Him, be real, be honest. The longer you talk to him, you’ll find the slower your breath becomes, and your heartbeat will slow down. Your blood pressure may lower and sleep may come more easily at night when we focus on Him.

The more we practice gratitude, the easier it is to find things to be grateful for. You can make real physical changes to your brain and body. It’s a win-win situation!
