Get to Know Valeo: Amy Scherbing, Front Desk Extraordinaire

What drew you to Valeo?

A couple of things played a role in being drawn to Valeo:

Coming here years ago as patients made a significant difference in my son Tyler’s health. When he was 6 or 7 years old, he no longer had to take asthma medications! We were amazed!! To this day — nearly 15 years later — he has not had to go back to the asthma medications.

Valeo truly addresses your health problem, they don’t quickly refer you to another doctor. Their practice truly is about bringing hope and healing. It’s really clear that Dr. Aaron and Dr. Rob care about patients and want to be their doctors.

What is your favorite thing about working at the front desk?

My favorite thing about working at the front desk is connecting with the patients and making them feel at home here. If there is time, I like to get to know them a bit more. I want them to leave feeling confident about their healthcare choice and feel a connection with Valeo. I also like watching the patients’ health improve!

If you did not work at Valeo, what job would you choose, even if just for one day?

If I didn’t work at Valeo (and had I not met Keith and gotten married) I would have pursued being a scuba diving instructor — for a day and maybe a career! Why? Because the ocean and what God has created is absolutely amazing! The colors, God’s creativity, the wildlife … it’s breathtaking!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy walks, reading, and connecting with friends and family during my time off!

What is your favorite Bible verse?

My favorite Bible verse that I say to myself often (especially since starting my job here at Valeo, where I’m reintroduced to lots of technology for the first time since having my kids and being a stay-at-home mom): “I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.”  Philippians 4:13

How others see her

In their own words, Amy’s coworkers describe her as kind, positive, laid back, thoughtful, and organized.
