Alleviating Frozen Shoulder Pain

Woman in pain holding frozen shoulder

We all know how distracting the pain of a stubbed toe, burned tongue, or other seemingly minor ailment can be. But when the pain is more severe, and unrelenting, it can derail you completely.

Nathalie reached that point when dealing with a frozen shoulder that had been bothering her for over six months with no indication of improving.

“At some point, pain becomes all-consuming, and really depressing,” shares Nathalie. “I had seen three chiropractors, two physical therapists, and two massage therapists, and despite them all being wonderful practitioners, each one seemed to just aggravate my shoulder further. Instead of getting better, it was getting worse.”

Nathalie was in constant pain. The pain began to impact her daily activities to a point where it was debilitating.

“I couldn’t go for walks, because my shoulder would hurt even when I didn’t swing my arm. Daily chores like cooking and washing dishes were incredibly painful. It hurt to close car doors and open cans,” Nathalie says. “I was also experiencing a lot of dizziness and nausea due to a car accident that impacted my neck.”

A Heaven-sent Hint

The pain was wearing on Nathalie and started to really impact her mentally. Luckily, as she was at her “lowest low,” she was searching through her son’s old health files and came across Valeo’s number. It had been given to her years ago for an unrelated issue, but she had lost it at that time. Upon finding it again, she decided to go to the website to see the list of services and learn whether one of the practitioners might be able to help with her frozen shoulder.

To her relief, she learned that Dr. Aaron would be a good fit, so she made an appointment to get adjusted.

“After my first visit with Dr. Aaron, my neck pain, shoulder pain, dizziness, and nausea improved so much! He was the first practitioner to provide some relief. Although my range of motion wasn’t immediately restored, it has gotten much better and is gradually continuing to improve. I am so thankful for how quickly Dr. Aaron’s care has turned my life around.”

Nathalie is thrilled at the progress she has made since that first visit with Dr. Aaron.

“I love to cross-country ski and prior to coming into Valeo, I was heartbroken thinking I may not be able to ski the upcoming winter due to my shoulder. But since getting adjustments with Dr. Aaron, and massages with Michelle, I was able to cross-country ski all winter, and even ski up a double diamond ski hill that I had never been able to get up without taking my skis off before!”

A Compassionate Care Team

Nathalie describes her life before versus after seeing Dr. Aaron as “night and day.” She is no longer afraid to do activities for fear of aggravating her shoulder, and now knows that if it does flare up, it will heal again.

Although Nathalie’s primary experience at Valeo is with Dr. Aaron, she has had the fortune to work with Dr. Kassie, Dr. Rob, Dr. Jon, and Michelle, as well (whether for herself or her son).

“Last summer my son was home sick from summer camps about one to two days a week,” explains Nathalie. “After starting to see Dr Rob last fall, he was home sick gradually less and less from school during the school year. And this past summer, he did not miss any summer camp days due to being sick. Dr. Rob was able to help my son regain his health, in a way that traditional doctors never could have done,” she says, adding, “and all the other practitioners here have been amazing. Combine that with the kind front desk staff, and we have had a wonderful experience at Valeo.”
