“I went to Dr. Morland because I was suffering with numbness in the left side of my face. I was also dealing with numbness down my arm. I had gone to see a neurologist who said that in order to proceed I needed to have thousands of dollars worth of tests to determine what was wrong. The tests were not in my budget. When I saw Dr. Morland he did a few tests and right away determined what was wrong. It took 2-3 treatments and my problem was gone. I am very happy that I chose to see Dr. Morland!” Valeo Client- Roberta N.
“Recently I was in an auto accident. I was very surprised how sore I was after the accident. A friend of mine recommended that I go see Dr. Morland. Dr. Morland explained to me how important it was for me to get this taken care of. Through the work of Dr. Morland and Leah (massage therapist) I recovered quickly and was back to my usual self in no time. I am glad that I took my friend’s advice and went to Valeo!” Valeo Client- Bev L.

I have been doing massage therapy since 1999. I graduated from Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork, Inc. I love working on and learning about the human body and I am enthralled by its functions and the potential the body has to heal itself when given the right materials. Massage therapy has so many positive effects on the body, and I love being able to help facilitate wellness with my clients. Seeing first hand how massage has given such great rewards to me personally (click the “my story” link for how massage and CST has helped me personally), as well as my clients encourages me to continue my pursuit and growth of different massage techniques, so that I can offer my best to you as your therapist. It is a thrill for me to learn and continue to grow in the area of massage and bodywork.
I believe much of our illness and bodily dysfunction today is due to the food we eat, the extreme stress and burdens we carry and the lack of exercise. Our true freedom from these negative habits comes only through Jesus Christ; however, if I can aid in your rest, relaxation and elimination of negative factors that hinder you from being healed, as well as encourage you through life’s journey, I view it a privilege.
The massage modalities I use are relaxation, deep tissue, CranioSacral Therapy, and Myofascial Release. My areas of specialty are headache / migraine, TMJ , neck pain and pre/post natal. I continue to take advanced training in CranioSacral therapy and am currently working on my certification with The Upledger Institute. I also take continuing education in Myofascial Release through John Barnes. In addition to keeping my massage and bodywork current, I am working on my masters degree in holistic nutrition.
My vision is to create a safe and comfortable environment of relaxation and care to promote healing and wellness from within, while encouraging my clients to take control of their health resulting in a rich and enjoyable quality of life in a non-threatening way.
Michelle McKusick was raised in a small, rural town in Minnesota named Silver Creek. She grew up learning to appreciate the quieter lifestyle it offered. That lifestyle is mirrored in Michelle’s approach to life and her personality. She appreciates the simple, wholesome ways in life and sees the beauty in things it may be easy for one to overlook. Embracing this lifestyle has brought her great joy in vegetable gardening and recently heirloom gardening. The nutritional benefits of her gardens are a plus, since she has learned how her intake of food affects her moods, well-being and energy levels. She feels closer to God, by witnessing the miracle of a seed growing into a plant and then producing a harvest.
The journey to become a massage therapist started as a little girl who enjoyed rubbing family member’s shoulders. Then, years later came a nudge from God while she was caring for her husband after a construction fall which broke his back. It wasn’t until she was in an auto accident five years later that she opened her heart and felt the calling.
Michelle graduated from CenterPoint Massage and Shiatsu School and Clinic from the massage therapy program with a determination to help others. While there, she had the privilege of massaging the Minnesota Gopher Football Team and runners from the Twin Cities Marathon which has given her unique experience.
Michelle delights in giving back to the community by volunteering at multiple organizations and within her church. She is an avid gardener and loves each changing season in Minnesota and what it has to offer.
